Tell us about your on-campus living experiences. 
 
林赛: “我住在 Howe-Rounds my first year at Skidmore and chose to live in a special-interest, substance-free community. How does finding a roommate work at Skidmore?

As a first-year student, did you do any cooking or have access to do so?

What is permitted in the dorms?

Ultimately, it’s about having a conversation with 住宅生活. And, importantly, knowing that this is an accepting campus.” 
 
Do most students stay on campus for all four years?  
 
谢娜-: “Yes, the majority of students live on campus all four years. 在COVID-19期间, number changed a bit, but historically it’s 90-95% of students on campus.”  
 
Can people come visit you on campus?

How does one do laundry in the dorms and is it free?

Any tips on setting up your dorm? How can you personalize it while still making it a good learning and studying 空间?

What kind of furniture is in a standard first-year room? 
 
谢娜-: “Everyone will have their own bed, of course. How are allergies handled in the dining hall?

What’s religious life like on campus?

How often do students go into town? Do people spend most of their time on campus?  
 
谢娜-: “It totally depends on what you want to do! Can first-year students have cars on campus?  
 
奥斯汀: “是的,你可以. I had one and it worked for me, but a lot of students don’t and they aren’t at any disadvantage because of it. Some students even prefer to not have one because it encourages them to utilize resources more and connect with people. 如果你 have a car, parking is really easy on campus.”

“We’re also really close to the Adirondacks and a lot of students go there. 我们的 郊游俱乐部 is super active and is the largest club on campus. They do lots of excursions, including rock climbing and boating and swimming. On school breaks they also plan long-distance 旅行.”
